Rice beat Rutland 2-1 Wednesday night at Cairnes Arena in South Burlington during a hard hitting, penalty filled game.

Rice went ahead during the first period on a seeing-eye goal by James Raymond. Raymond's shot was seeming completely sealed off Rutland goaltender Dean Abatiell, but somehow managed to go in. I got a couple of good shots of the play and I still don't know how it went in.

Rutland came back to tie the game in the second on a power play goal, but then Rice went ahead and stayed ahead.
